Colombian Mochila - Walls

Fique is a natural fiber that cultivates in the leaves of the fique plant, Furcraea andina. It is native to Andean regions of Colombia, Ecuador, and Peru.

Pre-Colombian populations extracted and implemented the fique fibers for some centuries before the arrival of Spanish conquerors to make garments, ropes, hammocks, and many other tools. Fique is well-known for its strength and durability. Fique garments tend to last decades when proper care is given.

Fique fibers are dyed with natural pigments by means of a boiling process, creating colorful spools of fique fibers that are used by the local artisans to create these one-of-a-kind handbags.

These artisanal bags are worn by both men and women. Join the fair trade movement.

Wear it across your body or on one shoulder.
