The story behind the family that craft these bags is very special as they come from one of the most impoverished indigenous groups of the country. They employ age-old techniques into these delightful pieces with wisdom and strength. The family today of 14 women have moved to the capital of Colombia, Bogota, as they have been displaced by the guerrilla armed forces. Let's support these women get ahead. 

Made in Guapi, Cauca in southern Colombia, this piece features characteristics borrowed from African cultures that distinguish them from other indigenous basketry.
