Set of 6 placemats made of 100% chiqui chiqui or marama fiber. Handcrafted in Guanía, Colombia by Ana Gladys Aponte, indigenous woman artisan of the Porvenir community.
The marama is a palm found in tropical and humid areas of the country, and this specific weaving technique was done in spiral form. The fiber extraction does not require the destruction of the tree itself, so this extraction is considered to be a sustainable process.
