We prove that the right kind of basket bag has potential beyond the beach. The elegant and clean weave detail offer summer-in-the-city appeal.
This smaller version than the traditional tinaja bag is crafted by women from the Zenu indigenous community from Cordoba, Colombia from 100% arrow cane fiber. This bag is named after a clay water pot. This bag holds its shape because the actual clay tool was used before to store water and keep it fresh, as people in the community had no refrigerators. It is an iconic instrument and still is today in the Córdoba region of Colombia.
Arrow cane is a Bambu-like plant that grows in a very tropical region in the northern part of Colombia. It is very durable and comes in a variety of 27 different qualities. Learn more about the Zenu people in our blog.
