ABOUT THE FOUNDERS

Co-founded by Sara Milanes, an F.I.T. and Marangoni graduate, and backed by a family group of angel investors, HOPE is motivated by a desire to give back to the community and solve an ongoing social problem in Colombia in South America.

HOPE was also co-founded by Adriana Ceballos, a graphic designer, and branding expert. She took her first step in entrepreneurship 12 years ago when she started her own Branding company, Brandhaus, based in Colombia.

HOPE MADE IN THE WORLD works directly with artisans to preserve cultural heritage, and increase the quality of life for indigenous communities and master craftsmen from Colombia. We respect and value local resources and ancient techniques by producing high-quality products under a fair trade framework.

The company started off in 2015 producing sustainable apparel made from alpaca wool in Peru, as well as fashion accessories made in Colombia by indigenous communities. However, in today's everchanging market dynamics, the company has pivoted to adapt to its customer's motivations.

The family group was born and raised on the Caribbean coast in Colombia and currently lives in Bogota, where they run the business. The company today is managed from Colombia and caters to the international market.
